About Mac

Malcolm “Mac” Blankenship brings four decades of experience to his law practice.

He took his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1968, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.

After college he volunteered for the military, and served as a combat infantryman in the U. S. Army, Vietnam, earning the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

Returning to civilian life he enrolled in law school at Wake Forest University under the G.I. Bill and a full academic scholarship, and graduated cum laude in 1974

He entered the private practice of law in Salisbury, N. C. that year and worked as a partner in a local firm for 30 years, after which he continues today as a sole practitioner serving Rowan County and surrounding areas.

Born in Charlotte, N.C. in 1946, he married Ann in 1970.   They have four grown children.

His civic activities include extensive work in youth sports (baseball) and in support of the local public schools, along with service pro bono in his profession.

He holds a license as a North Carolina General Contractor (highway and water and sewer utilities), and is also a licensed real estate broker under the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.

His hobbies include hunting, reading, gardening, trains, and lately bird-watching.
